Mr. Robert V. “Bob” Wood of Port Jervis died Sunday, November 13th at Bon Secours Community Hospital. He was 73.
He was born March 3, 1932 in Jersey City, NJ the son of the late Cyril V. and the late Helen Spina Wood.
He was married to the late Susan McKeever Wood who died June 23, 2004.

He was a member ofSt. Mary's R.C. Church in Port Jervis where he was very active as a volunteer.

Robert proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict where he earned a Purple Heart. He then went on to serve his country in the Army National Guard in Lodi, New Jersey. He was a member of VFW Post #3484 in Saddlebrook, NJ.

A family statement read: “Dad was an avid hunter and enjoyed skiing as well as riding his motorcycle.”

Son: Robert V. Wood, Jr. and his wife Dana Idaho Springs, CO
Daughter: Rose Corey Port Jervis, NY
Daughter: Doreen Wood - Jay Sayreville, NJ
Sister: Joan P. Shane Kendall Park, NJ
Grandson: Jason DiDonato and his wife Celeste
Granddaughter:Patricia Jay
Grandson: William Wood
Grandson: Robert Wood III
Grandson: Joshua Wood
Great Grandson:Antonio DiDonato
Also several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the GRAY-PARKER FUNERAL HOME, 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis on Thursday, November 17th from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2005 with a 10:30 am prayer at the funeral home followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 AM in St. Mary's R.C. Church, 46 Ball St., Port Jervis, NY.

Burial with Military Honors will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Jervis, NY.

Memorial contributions may be made to Charity Of The Donor's Choice.
