Mr. Francis R. Lahey of Dover, Delaware a retired registered nurse and former resident of Port Jervis, died Thursday, April 27, 2006 at Green Meadow Assisted Living Center, Dover, Delaware. He was 89.
He was born September 26, 1916 in Port Jervis, NY the son of the late Thomas J. and the late Mae E. Hill Lahey, Sr.
He was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Port Jervis; member and past Exaulted Ruler of the Liberty Elkīs Lodge and a 4th degree member of the St. Michaelīs Mary Mother of Peace Knights of Columbus, Georgetown, MD.
Mr. Lahey graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing in 1937 and worked at the Rockland State Hospital, Orangeburg, NY until he retired in 1970; he then contined nursing in Private Hospitals, Nursing Homes and Schools until 1985.
He is survived by 2 daughters: Barbara Mensch and Judith Lahey both of Kenton, Del
Brother: Thomas Lahey and his wife, Beth of Port Jervis
5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren
Also several nieces & nephews
He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Bernard, John and Russell Lahey and 5 sisters, Monica Kozykowski, Florence Jones, Agnita Doyle, Louise Izatt.and his twin, Francelia Gibbons,
Friends may call at the GRAY-PARKER FUNERAL HOME, 100 East Main Street, Port Jervis on Friday, April 28, 2006 7: - 9:pm.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Apr. 29, 2006 with a prayer at 9:15 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Mary's R.C. Church.
Burial will be at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Blauvelt, NY.
