Huguenot, NY
Mr. Richard J. ‘Dick’ Ellwanger of Huguenot, NY a lifetime resident of the area and owner of Ellwanger Truck Service, Inc. of Port Jervis, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 3, 2006 at St. Joseph´s Place, Port Jervis. He was 86.
He was born May 30, 1920 in Port Jervis, NY the son of the late Raymond C. and the late Minnie N. Wheeling Ellwanger.
He was the widower of the late Elvira ´Vi´ M. Grassey Ellwanger; she went home to be with the Lord on March 24, 2002.
He was a member of the Milford Bible Church, Milford, PA and a volunteer fireman and life member of Neversink Engine Co. No. 1. He was also an Army Air Force veteran of World War II.
“Because ‘Dick’ has accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, his family takes great comfort knowing that he is in heaven today with Him”.
Dick was an avid gardener and took pride in his yard.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara M. Ellwanger of Huguenot. Also nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the GRAY-PARKER FUNERAL HOME, 100 East Main Street, Port Jervis on Monday, November 6, 2006 7:00 - 9:00 PM and Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 9:00 - 10:00 AM. Firematic Services will held on Monday at 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Milford Bible Church, 110 Foxcroft Drive, Milford, PA with Rev. Rodney Ryle and Rev. A. Roy Christensen officiating.
Burial will be at Mount Moriah Cemetery, Kimbles, PA.
