Mr. Edwin L. Anderson

Glen Spey, NY

Mr. Edwin L. Anderson of Glen Spey, NY and a life time resident of the area died Thursday, December 25, 2008 at Campbell Hall Health Care Facility. He was 67.

He was born March 31, 1941 in Middletown, NY the son of the late John Edwin and the late Grace Turner Anderson.

He married Norma Brazington-Scheck Anderson 42 years ago on September 12, 1966 in Goshen, NY
Edwin worked as a Therapy Aide for the Middletown Psychiatric Center for 28 years.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam.

A family statement read: Even as a young man, Eddie L had a great love of life. He enjoyed fast cars, loyal pets and good times with friends and family. Always close with his sisters, he enjoyed the doting attention befitting a baby brother. During the Vietnam War, he was drafted in November 1963 and served proudly as a private in the 3rd Infantry Division, Artillery, where his skill with a rifle earned him the distinction of Sharpshooter. In 1966, he met his “honey bear”, Norma Jane, who shared his love of fast cars and travel. He loved taking the family on Summer vacations to places like Canada, Vermont and West Virginia with the pop-up camper in tow behind them. To pay for those vacations, they both devoted many years in the employ of the Middletown State Hospital, where Eddie spent 28 loyal years as a Therapy Aide before his retirement in 1996. Always the skilled handyman, he was able to devote more time to “honey-dos” and hunting with his sons. With his health declining in recent years, many precious moments were spent with his “sunshine girls”, with his other grandchildren and with his loyal dog, Daisy.
