Shohola, PA


Mr. Manfred Robert Kluge of Shohola, PA, passed away Monday, February 15, 2010 at Bon Secours Community Hospital. He was 80.

He was born May 8, 1929 in Guhrau-Schlessian, Germany, the son of the late Erich Robert and the late Emma Freitag Kluge.

He was a member of St. Jacobi Lutheran Church in Shohola, and a former member of the Shohola Volunteer Fire Department. Manfred belonged to the Tri-State German American Club and the Lake Wallenpaupack German American Club. He also belonged to the UFCW Local #174.

He worked as a salesman for Schaller & Weber Delicatessen in New York City.

Surviving are:
His loving wife of 50 years Ingrid Kluge at home.
3 Daughters: Margaret Green and her husband Eric of Quakertown, PA
Petra Kluge of Shohola, PA
Christine Shay and her husband Michael of Wanamie, PA
1 Brother: Willi Kluge and his wife Ursel of Germany
2 Sisters: Irma Kluge of Germany
Inge Wolf and her husband Gerhard of Germany
5 Grandchildren: Shannon and Heather Green of Quakertown, PA
Erica, Peter and Brandon Shay of Wanamie, PA
1 Niece: Monika Mauer of Germany
1 Nephew: Andy Kluge of Germany

Friends may call at the GRAY-PARKER FUNERAL HOME, INC. 100 East Main Street Port Jervis on Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 10:30am at the GRAY-PARKER FUNERAL HOME.

Burial will be at German Hill Cemetery, Shohola, PA.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jacobi Lutheran Church, 108 Glen Drive, Shohola, PA 18458 of the Shohola Volunteer Fire Department, 137 Maple Dr., Shohola, PA 18458.
