Mr. William ''Bill'' C. Dicks of Port Jervis, NY and a longtime resident of the area, died Sunday, August 29, 2010 at home. He was 68.
He was born June 23, 1942 in Jamaica, Queens, NY the son of the late Kenneth and the late Helen Dicks.
He married Rosemarie Melvin O’Brien and was formerly married to Mary Bensley the mother of his children.
William as a young man worked for H & M Knitting Mill in Port Jervis. He then went to work as a custodian for the Port Jervis Central School District.
He was a past member of the Knights Of Columbus #471, Port Jervis, NY. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge No. 645 BPOE, Port Jervis, NY
William was a social member of the Tri-States Naval Ship, VFW Post No. 7241, Port Jervis, NY, Roosa - Fleming V.F.W. Post No. 161, Port Jervis, NY and the American Legion Post #139 Milford, PA
A family statement read:” Dad was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He will be missed by all.”

Wife: Rosemarie Melvin Dicks of Port Jervis, NY. 3 Daughters: Carol Ricciardi and her husband Donald of Port Jervis, NY; Betty Conklin and her husband Richard of Sparrowbush, NY and Susan Bloomer and her husband Larry of Matamoras, PA. 1 Step Son: Thomas O’Brien and his wife Kathy of Sparrowbush, NY. 2 Step Daughters: Rosemary Conklin and her husband John of Sparrowbush, NY and Denise O’Brien of Sparrowbush, NY.
