Mr. Thomas J. Reilly a life long resident of Port Jervis died Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Milford Senior Care & Rehabilitation Center. He was 81.
He was born June 16, 1929 in Port Jervis, NY the son of the late Edward M. Sr. and the late Elizabeth Connelly Reilly.
Thomas was married for 61 years to the late Anne Luckey Reilly; she died August 8, 2008.
He was retired from Mid Hudson Psychiatric Center and was a former owner of the Handy Corner in West End.

Thomas was a member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Port Jervis where he was a communicant, a sixty year member of Excelsior Engine Co. #5 and a member of the AARP, Port Jervis Seniors and many civic organizations. He was a coach for twenty-five years for the Cardinals of the Pop Warner Football League.

A family statement read: “Dad looked at life as an athletic contest. He celebrated the good things, and when life tackled him, he got up and tried harder. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, corny, jokes and sayings. He was happy with the “Herculean effort” his children made on his behalf. He was proud of his grandchildren and their accomplishments. To his great grandchildren he was Great Gramps the funny guy. We are happy he is again with Anne.”

He is survived by his devoted family.

Robin Obermeyer and her husband David of Huguenot, NY
5 Grandchildren: Jennifer Kowal and her husband Richard, Mark Siemers and his wife Bobbie, Maria Obermeyer, Daniel Obermeyer, Anthony Trochiano and his wife Danielle.
2 Great Grandchildren: Rachel and Travis Kowal
3 Sisters-In-Law: Margaret Jenks and her husband Merville of Port Jervis, NY
Kathleen Luckey of Port Jervis, NY
Marion “Honey” Quinn of Port Jervis, NY
Also many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased Brothers: Edward Reilly, Jr., John F. “Jack” Reilly, Sr. and Joseph Reilly.
Predeceased Sisters: Anita R. Quinn, Sister Elizabeth Reilly, SC.

Friends may call at the GRAY-PARKER FUNERAL HOME, 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm with firematic services at 7:30 pm at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2010 with a 9:15am prayer at the funeral home followed by a 10:00am Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's R.C. Church, 46 Ball St., Port Jervis, NY.

Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Jervis, NY.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
