Huguenot, NY


Mrs. Shirley Frances Craig of Huguenot, NY and a long time resident of the area died Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Bon Secours Community Hospital. She was 55.

She was born July 18, 1955 in Paterson, NJ the daughter of the late Ralph and the late Shirley Riley Harriott.

Shirley married Richard ''Red Beard'' Craig 30 years ago in Layton, NJ.

She worked for over 30 years at Altec Lansing in Milford, PA formerly known as Sparkomatic as a Customer Service Group Leader.

Earlier in life Shirley was very active with the Salvation Army in Port Jervis. She helped raise money for many different organizations such as Breast Cancer, March of Dimes and the Humane Society Nationally because of her love for animals. Shirley was a NASCAR fan and loved the NHRA. She loved to watch the Drag Racers John Force and the late Eric Medlin.

A family statement read: ''She was a loving mother and wife of 30 years. She loved animals, always had a smile on her face and was willing to help anyone who needed help. She was the best wife anyone could have and she will be sadly missed.''

Surviving are:
Husband: Richard ''Red Beard'' Craig at home.
2 Daughters: Jessica Gargiulo and her husband Daniel of Huguenot, NY and Kimberly Craig of Galviston, TX. 3 Brothers: Ralph Harriott, Jr. and his wife Gillian of Dingman's Ferry, PA; Ronald Harriott and his wife Debbie of Ashford, NC and Bill Harriott and his wife Tracey of Culver Lake, NJ. Father-in-law: Charles Tiffany of Montrose, PA. 3 Grandchildren: Austin Taylor Clark, Noah Daniel Clark and Cheryl Nicole Clark. Good friends: The Creeden, Wilson, Straway and Brozdowski families, Elizabeth LaChance and Shirley Brewer and her husband Ed. Also several Nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the GRAY-PARKER FUNERAL HOME, 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis on Thursday, September 30, 2010 from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 1, 2010 at 10:00 AM in Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY.

Cremation will be at H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg, PA.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family or to the Charity of Donorís Choice.
