Mr. Walter W. Cortright formerly of Port Jervis, beloved husband, father, Pop-Pop, great-grandfather, brother and friend died Tuesday, March 1, 2005 in Indian Harbor Beach, FL. He was 84.

Walt was born June 3, 1920 in Matamoras, PA the son of the late Jesse and the late Marguerite Smith Cortright.

A retired cabinet maker he was an Army veteran of WW II.

As a young lad growing up in the Port Jervis third Ward, he was one of thirteen who started a club called “The Jones Boys”. His lifelong friends surviving him are Vince Bishop, Bud Coslick and George Hazelton.

He was married Dec. 5, 1942 to Margaret Walsh who survives him at home. He leaves 4 sons, Ronald of Jacksonville, FL, David and his wife, Mary Rita of Matamoras, James and his wife, Barbara of Manchester, CT and Kenneth and his wife, Deborah of Milford, PA
His grandchidren: Michael & Gina Cortright, Julie & Andrew Crawley
Ronald & Anna Cortright, Kate & Drew Cooney
Brian & Lauren Cortright, Lucretia Cortright,
Kristin & Brian Pears, Susan & Ronald Myers and James A. Cortright
Seven great-grandchildren
Sister: Margaret and her husband Harry Spears of Port Jervis, NY
Brother-in-law: Kenneth Hemleb of Port Jervis, NY
Sister-in-law: Iva Walsh of Pittston, PA
Also several nieces and nephews.
Walt was predeceased by 2 sisters, Mildred Newcomb and Helen Hemleb
and 2 brothers, Richard and Harold Cortright.

Interment will take place in the spring at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Port Jervis, NY
