Mrs. Irene Hensz McCooey Yarmouth, Mass. and formerly of Port Jervis Mrs. Irene Hensz McCooey, 94, passed away at her home in Yarmouth, Mass on Monday, September 19, 2005. The daughter of the late John and the late Julietta Flood Hensz, Irene was born March 27, 1911 in Narrowsburg, NY. Irene was the widow of the late Willard L. Johnson and Arthur J. McCooey. A former resident of Port Jervis,NY she attended schools in Tusten and Port Jervis, NY For sixteen years, Irene worked as an Avon representative in the Port Jervis area. She loved music, poetry, bird watching and her family who will greatly miss her. She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Hendricks and her husband, Kenneth Hendricks with whom she made her home and a son, Willard L. ‘Bill’ Johnson and his wife Patricia Johnson of Canandagua, NY. She is also survived by a sister, Theresa Tebo of Narrowsburg, NY and a brother, George Hensz of Matamoras, PA, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews. Irene was also the sister of the late John Hensz, Arthur Hensz, Louis Hensz, Ruby Kemble and Florence Roberts Funeral and graveside services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005 at 2:00 PM at the Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross Relief Services. Funeral arrangements are by the GRAY-PARKER FUNERAL HOME, 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis.
