Stanley Kenneth Alberg was born on June 24, 1924 in Hazel, MN, the son of Carl and Louise (Finstad) Alberg. He attended the Hazel Country School and St. Pauli Lutheran Church. He entered the United States Army in June of 1943, during World War II, serving two years overseas and one year on Iwo Jima. He was Honorably Discharged in January of 1946. Stanley was united in marriage to Theresa Evelyn Hammer, of Badger, MN on July 8, 1948. The couple moved to the ‘Hammer Family Farm’ in 1949, where they farmed until 1986. He also sold insurance for Roseau County Mutual, worked at Polaris and retired from the United States Postal Service in Roseau in 1986. After retiring they moved to Thief River Falls.

Stanley served on several church, creamery and township boards, and he also served as president of Roseau County Mutual Insurance Company.

He enjoyed watching professional baseball, football and hockey. He also enjoyed his daily crossword puzzles. Most of all Stanley loved the company of his wife and family.

Stanley is survived by his wife, Theresa of Thief River falls, MN; children: Myles (Kathy) Alberg of Thief River Falls, MN, Ron (Mary) Alberg of Holt, MN, Dave Alberg of Thief River Falls, MN, Debbie (Bert Erickson) of Roseau, MN and Kim (Curtis Berg) of Thief River Falls, MN; 12 grandchildren: 7 great grandchildren; sisters: Lillian Ranum of Thief River Falls, MN, Peggy Rolland of Seattle, WA, Ruby (Glen) Engelstad of Seattle, WA and Connie (Jim) Kolden of Shoreview, MN; brothers-in-law: Ed Sterle of Chisholm, MN and Dick Dinsmore of Minneapolis, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Chad Alberg; his parents; sisters: Gladys (Norman) Nelson, Cleo Sterle and Mae Dinsmore.
