Mildred Janet Hanson was born February 26, 1921, in Trail, MN, the daughter of Gilbert and Julia (Kriel) Hanson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. She grew up and attended rural school, graduating in 1940 from Goodridge High School.

On July 17, 1940, Mildred was united in marriage to Verner Arveson at Nazareth Church Parsonage by Pastor Fladmark. The couple farmed in Deer Park Township their whole lives.

Mildred was a member of Oak Park Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid. She was a homemaker and made the best lefsa in the area. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles and flower gardening.

Survived by husband, Verner, Oklee, MN; daughter, Shirley (Cliff) Swanson, Thief River Falls, MN and son, Loren (Barb) Arveson, Warroad, MN; 5 grandchildren, Jan Swanson, Lori Grandalen, Trevor Swanson, Melissa Engstrom and Paul Arveson; 7 great grandchildren, Luke and Derrick Rygg, Lexie and Holly Jo Grandalen, Hannah and Connor Swanson and Jordan Arveson; brothers, Alfred (Alvina) Hanson, Thief River Falls, MN and Gunder (Kitty) Hanson, Detroit Lakes, MN; brother-in-law, Lloyd (Mae) Arveson, International Falls, MN; sister-in-law, Luella Arveson, Thief River Falls, MN and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents; sister, Alma Brown and brothers, Herman, Goodwin and Norman Hanson.
