Gote Anderson, 90, died Friday, September 6, 2002 at his home in rural Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 11, 2002 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Arlen Hermodson officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be Tuesday 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM at the Johnson~Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls and on Wednesday one hour prior to the service in the church.

Gote Anderson was born June 8, 1912, in Smiley Township, Pennington County, MN, the son of Oscar and Charlotta (Hansson) Anderson. He grew up and attended Hiwatha School in Smiley Township. Gote entered in the US Army on July 13, 1942 at Little Rock, Arkansas. He was a Staff Sergeant with the 101st ARM Airways Communications Systems 51st Group. Gote was honorary discharged on March 1, 1946 at Camp McCoy, WI. He returned to the area where he farmed his entire life in Smiley Township, Pennington County.

Gote was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, The American Legion Post 117, Veterans of Foreign Wars, International-War-Veterans Allaiance, The Agassiz Swedish Society, The Nash Car Club of America and Antique Automobile Club of America, and enjoyed traveling and working on old cars and tractors.

Survivors include a sister, Martha Burtness, Thief River Falls, MN and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by parents, sisters, Ina Myrom and Harriet Anderson, brothers, Clarence, Wilhelm and Erland Anderson, brothers-in-law, Clarence Myrom and John Burtness and a nephew, Gary Myrom.
