Lenelle B. Peters, 88, of Thief River Falls, died peacefully with her family by her side on November 4, 2009 at Northwest Medical Center Meritcare, Thief River Falls.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 9, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Evangelical Covenant Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Pastor Bert Foster officiating. Burial will be held at Viking Cemetery in Viking, MN.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a 7:00 PM prayer service. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Born on April 4, 1921 at the home of her parents, Alton and Myrtle (Tangquist) Sackett in Viking, MN. Lenelle grew up in the Viking community and attended school in both Viking and Newfolden.
On October 14, 1939 she was united in marriage to Orville William Peters. Lenelle and Orville farmed together from the time they were married until 1957. After moving to Thief River Falls in 1957 she worked for Froseth Grocery Store and Bredeson’s Dry Cleaners. Although she held several other positions in Thief River Falls, being a homemaker was the most important to her. Lenelle enjoyed embroidery, cooking, baking, tending to her house plants, sewing and attending church at Evangelical Covenant Church in Thief River Falls where she was a member of the church and Covenant Women.
Lenelle is survived by her Son, Maynard (Shirley) Peters of Thief River Falls; Daughter, Sharon (Duane) Chader of Madison Lake, MN; Grandchildren, Orville (Carol) Peters, Malinda (Nathan) Bukowski, Wanda (Gary) Wright, Ann (Allen) Crutchfield, Ruth (Isaac) Francour and Kevin (Sheena) Chader; 16 Great-Grandchildren; Brother, Charles (Joanie) Sackett; Sister-in-law, Ruth Sackett Bjorness; Life-long Friend, Mabel Anderson and several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Orville; parents, Alton and Myrtle Sackett; brother, Rodger Sackett; grandson and granddaughter, Keith and Darlene Peters; granddaughter, Christina Chader and great-granddaughter, Bree Peters.
