“Buddy” Hicks, 68of Elkview passed away May 2, 2012, at CAMC Memorial Hospital.
He was a retired mechanic and Navy Veteran. “Buddy” was also a member of New Beginnings Church of the Nazarene and Gideons International. He was a mason and member of the Cheylan Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite of Free Masons.
He was preceded in death by his parents,Elbert Vernon Hicks and Ethel May Watts Hicks, step brothers Emeral Drake, Joe Lusher and sisters Renee Mullins and Georgie Wilkinson.
He is survived by his loving companion and wife of 22 years, Tammy Hicks, son Steven Hicks; daughter Tammy Maynor; brother Tiger Hicks; sisters Jean Hicks, Sylvia (Bob) Weddington, Maxine Duncan, Goldie Nathensan and ; grandchildren Jessica Maynor, Brianna, Steven Michael and Zachary Hicks.
Service will be 2 PM Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Arbogast officiating. Entombment will be in Elk Hills Memorial Mausoleum. Visitation will be 6-9 PM Friday, May 4, 2012.
