Lillian E. Carhart

Lillian E. Carhart, a lifelong area resident, entered into rest Thursday, August 7, 2003 at her home in Fishkill. She was 76.

Daughter of the late David and Lillian Webb Fitzgibbons, she was born March 22, 1927 in Beacon.

On December 6, 1945 at Saint John the Evangelist Church, Beacon she married Frank T. Carhart. Mr. Carhart survives at home.

Lillian was a medical secretary for Doctors Frank, Mond and Kaplan for many years. She was formerly active in Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts with her children. She was an avid Bingo player. To anyone who knew her, Lillian was a close friend and confidant.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Frank T. Carhart, Sr. at home; her children, Janice Gastio and her husband, Thomas of Stormville, Louise Speedling and her husband, Bill of Fishkill; Frank T. Carhart, Jr. and his wife, Kathleen of Hopewell Junction; her sister, Gertrude Ray of Florida; three grandchildren, Dawn Mosteller of Georgia, T.J. Gastio of Stormville, and Krystal Carhart of Hopewell Junction; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Esther Glastetter, David Fitzgibbons, and Frances Halpin.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 10, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Halvey Funeral Home, 24 Willow Street, Beacon.

A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Monday, August 11, 2003 at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Eckler officiating.

Entombment will follow in Fishkill Rural Community Mausoleum, Route 9, Fishkill.

Memorial donations on Lillian's behalf may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049.
