Honorable William R. Biersack
William R. Biersack, a longtime Fishkill resident, entered into rest Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. He was 55.
Son of the late Frederick and Catherine VanSchaick Biersack, he was born March 5, 1948 in Peekskill.
William graduated Peekskill High School in 1966. After high school he joined the United States Air Force from where he was honorably discharged. He attended and graduated from Dutchess Community College, SUNY Oswego and Loyola University Law School in New Orleans, Louisiana.
On October 15, 1988, he married the former Patrica Callahan. Mrs. Biersack survives at home.
Honorable Biersack was currently serving as Judge in the Village of Fishkill as well as the Town of Fishkill. He was also a self employed practicing attorney. He was a member of the VFW, Post 1286, Fishkill; the New York State Magistrate's Association and the Dutchess County Magistrate's Association, where he was Past President.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Callahan Biersack at home; his two sons, William Callahan Biersack and Robert Callahan Biersack both at home; and his two brothers, Fred Biersack and his wife, Angie of Fishkill and their children, Joe and Lisa and Donald Biersack and his wife, Linda of Palm Desert, California. He is also survived by three brother in laws, William, Michael and Stephen Callahan and their families.
Visitation will be Friday, September 19, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Halvey Funeral Home, 24 Willow Street, Beacon. Members of VFW Post 1286 will meet for services at 3:30 pm at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am at Saint Mary Mother of the Church, Jackson Street, Fishkill on Saturday, September 20, 2003.
Burial will follow in Saint Joachim's Cemetery, Washington Avenue, Beacon.
Memorial Donation's on William's behalf may be made to a charity of your choice.
