| Palma Bellissimo Palma Bellissimo, a lifelong Beacon resident, entered into rest Friday, October 17, 2003 at Saint Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. She was 86.
Daughter of the late Christopher and Palmarose Ramputi Raffaele, she was born January 11, 1917 in Beacon.
On October 18, 1936 at Saint Joachim's Church, Beacon, she married Fred Bellissimo. Mr. Bellissimo preceded her in death December 30, 2000.
Mrs. Bellissimo was an occupational therapist at Matteawan Correctional Facility prior to her retirement. She was a parishioner of Saint Joachim's Church and a former member of Court Liberatta No. 704 Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Beacon.
She is survived by her daughters, Rosalie Pomarico and her husband, Charles of Beacon and Fran Sendra of The Villages, Florida; her sister, Rose Dalbo of Beacon; her grandchildren, Cindy Pomarico of Poughkeepsie, Carla Jo Gavey and her husband, Peter of Connecticut, LeeAnn Blackman and her husband, Dan of North Carolina, and John Pomarico and his wife, Jane of Beacon; four great-grandchildren, Jack, Tucker and Matt Gavey of Connecticut and Laurel Blackman of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Teresa DiRico; her brothers, Joseph and Nunzio Raffaele; and her son-in-law, Joseph Sendra.
Visitation will be from 2-6 pm on Sunday, October 19, 2003 at Halvey Funeral Home, 24 Willow Street, Beacon. Family and friends are asked to use the Oak Street Entrance.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 am at Saint Joachim's Church, Leonard Street, Beacon on Monday, October 20, 2003.
Interment will follow in Saint Joachim's Cemetery, Washington Avenue, Beacon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your own choice.
