Lillian A. Comeau
Lillian A. Comeau, a longtime Beacon resident, entered into rest, Monday, December 29, 2003, at Thompson House, Rhinebeck. She was 80.
Born in Harlem on March 28, 1923, she was the daughter of Charles and Marie Morat Naegele. She was married to Philbert A. Comeau on April 13, 1941 in St. John the Evangelist Church, Beacon. Mr. Comeau preceded her in death on October 16, 1989.
Mrs. Comeau was a veterans advocate, active with the Hudson Valley American Ex-Prisoners of War, having served as their Chaplain, and Disabled American Veterans Post #144 Auxiliary, Beacon. She volunteered at Castle Point VAMC. Mrs. Comeau was also a member of the St. St. John’s Seniors and the Beacon Seniors and a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church, Beacon.
Mrs. Comeau loved to garden, raising flowers and vegetables. She loved to watch and feed the birds. She loved animals, especially her Spotty.
Mrs. Comeau is survived by four generations of nieces and nephews as well as dear friends.
Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at Halvey Funeral Home, 24 Willow Street, Beacon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 Willow Street, Beacon.
Interment will follow in St. Joachim’s Cemetery, Washington Avenue, Beacon.
Donations in Mrs. Comeau’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
