Francis V. Chiappardi a longtime Beacon resident, entered into rest Sunday, August 18, 2002 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. He was 84.

Son of the late Vincent and Vetulia Perpetua Chiappardi he was born April 30, 1918 in Brooklyn, New York.

Mr. Chiappardi proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army.

Mr. Chiappardi was a retired jeweler.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine Farley Chiappardi at home; his children, Janet Olson of Highland, Claudia Chiappardi of Beacon, Gail Buccellato of Poughkeepsie, Frances Chiappardi of Arlington, Virginia, Vincent Chiappardi of Los Angles, California, Cathy Pomarico of Beacon, Lisa Chiappardi of Beacon, and Patricia Fenton of Beacon; one sister, Antoinette Barone of New Rochelle; ten grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Rose-Marie Farley.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 21, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Halvey Funeral Home, 24 Willow Street, Beacon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Thursday, August 22 at St. Mary Mother of the Church, Jackson Street, Fishkill.

Interment will follow in St. Joachim's Cemetery, Beacon.
