Margaret T. Akin

Margaret T. Akin, a resident of Beacon, entered into rest Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. She was 89.

Daughter of the late Daniel and Alice McGuire O’Leary, she was born July 24, 1915 in Yonkers. She was married to Troy L. Akin, who preceded her in death on December 15, 1988.

Mrs. Akin was a retired School Nurse in the Beacon City School District, a parishioner of St. Joachim-St. John the Evangelist Church, Beacon, and a former member of Southern Dutchess Country Club.

She was predeceased by two brothers, John and Daniel O’Leary, and a sister, Elizabeth Storm. Mrs. Akin is survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation will be 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s, Willow Street, Beacon, with interment in St. Joachim’s Cemetery, Washington Avenue, Beacon.

The family wishes to express their thanks for the care given Mrs. Akin by Dion White and Gwen Anderson.
