Mary K. Delahay


Mary K. Delahay, a lifelong Beacon resident, entered into rest Friday, May 6, 2005 at Wingate at Dutchess, Fishkill. She was 97.

Daughter of the late Andrew Joseph and Mary Donnelly Delahay, she was born October 18, 1907 in Beacon.

Miss Delahay was an educator; teaching 6th, 7th and 8th grades. She was the Principal of Glenham School during the late 1930's and early 1940's. She was later a Medical Secretary at Craig House in Beacon prior to her retirement.

Survivors include her three nephews, William and James Rea both of Rockville Center and Thomas Lewis of Orlando, Florida; her five nieces, Dolores Capuiani of Pleasant Valley, Patricia Tompkins of Pennsylvania, Maryann and Catherine Rea both of Rockville Center and Marie A. Lewis of Beacon; and her sister-in-law, Catherine Delahay of Beacon. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Harriet Rea and Ann Lewis and her three brothers, Joseph, Jack and James Delahay.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 am on Monday, May 9, 2005 at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am at St. Joachim's Leonard Street, Beacon.

Interment will follow in the family plot in St. Joachim's Old Cemetery, Beacon.
