Mary E. Critelli
Mary E. Critelli, a lifelong resident of Beacon, died Wednesday, January 4, 2006, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. She was 88.
Born in Beacon on January 1, 1918, she was the daughter of William H. and Viola A. Williams Hawks. She was married to James J. Critelli, who preceded her in death on January 10, 1994.
Mrs. Critelli was a cook and waitress, working in several establishments in the Beacon area. She was a parishioner of St. Joachim-St. John the Evangelist Church, Beacon.
She is survived by her son, Ronald D. Critelli, Beacon; her brothers, Paul J. Hawks and Bruce A. Hawks, both of Beacon, Vance Hawks, Alabama, and Vincent Hawks, State of Florida; five grandchildren, Ronald Critelli, Jr., Jeffrey Critelli, Stephanie Musacchio, Marc Critelli, and Matthew Critelli; a special niece, Donna L. Tomlins; seven great grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, Frances A. Critelli, Beacon; a special friend, Diane Canavan; and several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, William Hawks, Jr., and Douglas Hawks; and two sisters, Doris Jane Way and Nancy Elaine Kiefer.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. January 6, 2006, at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2006, at St. Joachim’s, 61 Leonard Street, Beacon.
Interment will follow in St. Joachim’s Cemetery, 303 Washington Avenue, Beacon.
