Mary T. D'Onofrio


Mary T. D’Onofrio, a lifelong resident of Beacon, entered into rest Thursday, March 16, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie. Born in Beacon on May 18, 1918, she was the daughter of Paul and Theresa Gizza Trinchini. She was 87.

She was employed by the former Dorel Hat Company, Beacon, and was a parishioner of St. Joachim-St. John the Evangelist Church, Beacon.

She was married to Joseph A. D’Onofrio, who preceded her in death on January 29, 1989. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Beatrice Donofrio of Beacon, and nieces and nephews of the Giametta family: Debra Giametta, Danielle Marxer, Christopher Giametta and George Giametta III. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, William Trinchini, and a sister, Delia Giametta.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2006, at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 20, at St. John’s, 35 Willow Street, Beacon.

Interment will follow in St. Joachim’s Cemetery, 303 Washington Avenue, Beacon.

Donations in Mrs. D’Onofrio’s memory may be made to St. Joachim-St.John the Evangelist Church, 2 Oak Street, Beacon, NY 12508.
