David G. Babcock, III


David G. Babcock, III of Poughkeepsie, NY, and formerly of Beacon, died at home Wednesday, May 3, 2006. Born November 25, 1961, he was the son of Viola Babcock Plass and the late David Babcock. He was 44.

He was formerly employed at the former Dorel Hat Company and Metric International Company, both in Beacon. He was also a licensed real estate agent for Century 21, Hopewell Junction. David was an avid bowler and a Supremes fan. He enjoyed nature and was a dedicated son to his mother. He was a member of St. Joachim-St. John the Evangelist Church, Beacon.

In addition to his mother, David is survived by his stepfather, Ralph Plass, Poughkeepsie, his brother, Brian Babcock, Poughkeepsie; his sister Dawn and her husband, Bill Jackson, and two nieces, Kristie and Heather, all of Catskill; his grandmother, Catherine Pucino, Poughkeepsie; his aunts, Tina and her husband, Harold Robinson, Beacon, Brenda and her husband, Bill Kimmel, Beacon; his uncle, Angelo Pucino, and his wife, Patricia, Fishkill; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family will receive their friends on Friday, May 5, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10 a.m. Saturday, May 6, at St. Joachim’s, 51 Leonard Street, Beacon.

Interment will follow in St. Joachim’s Cemetery, 303 Washington Avenue, Beacon.
