| Richard "Duke" Arnell
Richard "Duke" Arnell, a lifelong Beacon resident, entered into rest Saturday, May 20, 2006 at his home in Beacon. He was 75.
Son of the late Frank and Ruth Dewey Arnell, he was born May 11, 1931 in Cold Spring, NY.
Duke proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956 when he was honorably discharged. Prior to his retirement, he was a Laborer with Local 1000 in Poughkeepsie for twenty-five years. He was also involved with real estate investment. Duke was a member of St. Rocco's Society, Beacon.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Morgan Arnell at home in Beacon; his children, Gerald Cahill of Beacon, Dana Cahill of Beacon, Keri Rossi and her husband, Michael of Hopewell Junction and Daniel Cahill of Beacon; his brother, Arthur Arnell and his wife, Lois of San Jose, California; his sisters, Dawn Walsh and her husband, Jay of Glenham and Cheryl Wiehl and her husband, Joseph of Las Vegas, Nevada; his grandchildren, Louie, Johnnie, Janelle, Jay, Daniel, Dylan and Braydon; several nieces and nephews; and his two dogs, Fritz and K.J.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Arvid "Pete" Arnell.
Visitation will be from 3-5 and 7-9 pm on Tuesday, May 23, 2005 at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 24 at the funeral home with Rev. Owen Mercer officiating.
Interment will follow in the family plot in Fairview Cemetery, Washington Avenue, Beacon.
