Mary R. Boonstra
Mary R. Boonstra, a lifelong Beacon resident, entered into rest Thursday, May 25, 2006, at Wingate at St. Francis, Beacon. She was 74.
Born in Beacon on April 17, 1932, she was the daughter of Augustus O. and Anna R. Skelly Fleming. She married Edward J. Boonstra, who preceded her in death on September 20, 1981.
Mrs. Boonstra retired as a Secretary at IBM, East Fishkill, and had previously worked for the former Beacon Savings Bank. She was a parishioner of St. Joachim-St. John the Evangelist Church, Beacon.
She is survived by her brother, John A., and his wife, Joan M., Fleming, Canandaigua, NY; her sister-in-law, Maryann Boonstra, Beacon, her brother-in-law, Nicholas Boonstra, Beacon; and two nephews, Paul and Mark Fleming. She was predeceased by her brother, Augustus Fleming, in 2000.
The family will receive their friends on Tuesday, May 30, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, at St. John the Evangelist, 35 Willow Street, Beacon.
Interment will follow in St. Joachim's Cemetery, 303 Washington Avenue, Beacon.
