Mary Louise "Mary Lou" Bogardus
Mary Louise "Mary Lou" Bogardus, a longtime Beacon resident, died Wednesday, September 27, 2006, at her home in New York City. She was 69.
Born in Beacon on August 24, 1937, she was the daughter of Robert and Louise LaDue Bogardus. She was employed as a nanny and later worked at Lighthouse Industries in New York City.
Miss Bogardus is survived by her two brothers, Robert Bogardus and his wife, Gwen, Pleasant Hill, CA, and Royal L. "Dewey" Bogardus, and his wife, Ellen, Beacon, and five nieces and one nephew. She was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Christie, in 1998.
There will be no calling hours.
A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 3, at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill, New York.
Marylou considered herself blessed to have two wonderful Seeing Eye dogs, Levy and Sussex, whom she loved deeply. They were her companions and friends and they increased her independence and ability to travel freely in New York City and elsewhere.
