Rose E. Burky, a lifelong Beacon resident, died Sunday, October 15, 2006, after a long illness, at Fishkill Health Center, Beacon. She was 81.

Born in Beacon on January 25, 1925, she was the daughter of Carmine “Carl” and Catherine Philippo DiRubbio. She married Joseph Burky, who survives at home.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Burky is survived by her son, Brian Burky and his companion, Dawn Minnerly, Beacon, a sister-in-law, Sophia DiRubbio, Beacon, a cousin, Mary Ranalli, Fishkill, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Daniel DiRubbio.

The family will receive their friends on Tuesday evening, October 17, 2006 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 18, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in St. Joachim’s Cemetery, 303 Washington Avenue, Beacon.
