Charles Colon Gonzalez, a resident of Beacon, died Sunday, December 10, 2006, at his residence. He was 87.

Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, on June 19, 1919, he was the son of Primitivo and Marcella Colon Gonzalez. He was married to the former Petra Finamore, who preceded him in death on April 14, 2001.

Mr. Colon Gonzalez retired as the Superintendent of The Arcade Building in New York City. He was a member of Local 32-J, New York City, and the Auxiliary Police, Beacon. He was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church, Newburgh.

He is survived by his daughter, Eva Uzquiano, Beacon, granddaughter, Rebecca, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Petra, he was predeceased by his son, Carlos, a brother and a sister.

The family will receive their friends on Tuesday, December 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13, at St. Patrick’s Church, 55 Grand Street, Newburgh.

Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Routes 9W and 94, New Windsor, NY.
