Virginia C. Bride, a five year resident of Point Pleasant, New Jersey and a former longtime Beacon resident, entered into rest, Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Claremont Center Nursing Home, Point Pleasant. She was 91.

Daughter of the late William and Marjorie Travis Clearwater, she was born May 19, 1916 in Wappingers Falls, New York. She was married to John Bride. Mr. Bride preceded her in death on February 7, 1995.

Virginia was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Beacon. Prior to her retirement, she worked for Alps Sweet Shop and New York Rubber Company.

She is survived by her daughter, June LeCompte of Point Pleasant, New Jersey; her two grandchildren, John LaCompte and Tracy Bowlby; and her four great-grandchildren, Chirstine and Carrie Bowlby and Brooke and John Joseph LaCompte.

Family will receive their friends on Sunday, May 18, 2008 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon, NY 12508.

A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Monday, May 19 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Wolcott Avenue, Beacon.

Interment will follow in St. Joachim's Cemetery, Washington Avenue, Beacon.
