Joan Butler
Joan Butler, a lifelong Beacon resident, died Thursday, July 31, 2008, at Wingate at Beacon. She was 76.
Born in Beacon on July 8, 1932, she was the daughter of Joseph James and Henrietta Sayers Devine. She married Carl J. Butler, who survives at home. She was a loving wife and mother and devoted grandmother and was a parishioner of St. Joachim-St. John the Evangelist Church, Beacon.
In addition to her husband, Carl, she is survived by her daughters, Linda Price, Wappingers Falls, and Sharon Nichols and her husband, Robert, Beacon; two brothers, Joseph Devine and Richard Devine, both of Wappingers Falls; four sisters, Henrietta Bolander, Beacon, Virginia Bolander, Wappingers Falls, Shirley LaVelle, Beacon, and Carol Callahan, Mansville, CT; four grandchildren, Timothy Price, Jr., Jeremy Price, Jason Price, and Joseph Zahn; two great grandchildren, Jeremy Price, Jr. and Jollera Zahn; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Butler was predeceased by her son, Robert Brown, Jr., her daughter, Kathy Brown, and her sister, Alice Devine Mayen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, August 4, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 Willow Street, Beacon.
Interment will follow in St. Joachim’s Cemetery, 303 Washington Avenue, Beacon.
