Gaetano A. Boccia, Jr.
Gaetano A. Boccia, Jr., a resident of Oakland Park, FL, and formerly of Beacon, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2008. He was born in Beacon to Gaetano and Brigida Boccia.
Gaetano, also known as Guy and Tommy, was a retired school teacher from Lindenhurst, NY. He attended St. John’s Parochial School and Beacon High School and studied at Siena and Middleburg Colleges and the University of Florence, Italy, majoring in languages, particularly Italian and Latin. He was a former member of the New York State National Guard, Newburgh.
He was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Fortuna Boccia, and a brother, Francis V. Boccia, both of whom lived in Beacon. He is survived by his brothers, Louis J. Boccia, Wappingers Falls, Julius S. Boccia and his wife, Marian, Newburgh, Michael B. Boccia and his wife, Donna, Port Charlotte, FL; his sister, Mary Boccia Thomas, Long Beach, NY; and several nephews and a niece.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family under the direction of Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon.
