| Elizabeth A. "Betty" Waage
Elizabeth A. “Betty” Waage, a resident of the Town of Wappinger and formerly of Hastings on Hudson, entered into rest Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie with her family by her side. She was 80.
Daughter of the late Charles and Mary Phair Vera, she was born September 5, 1928 in Yonkers.
Betty married Ralph E. Waage on April 15, 1951 in Hastings on Hudson. Mr. Waage preceded her in death in 1996. Together with her husband, she owned and operated H & R Outdoor Power Equipment in Yonkers prior to her retirement. Betty also enjoyed camping and boating, especially at Lake George.
She is survived by her daughter, Maryellen Moseman and her husband, Tom of Wappingers Falls; her son, Edward Waage and his wife, Debra of Beacon; her sisters, Mary Maher of New Hampshire and Peggy Powers of Patterson, New York; her grandchildren, Tommy and Tyler Moseman, Raymond Waage, Mike O’Connor and Laura and Jenny Waage and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Helen Ready and brother, James Vera.
Family will receive their friends on Monday, October 20, 2008 from 10 to 11 am Halvey Funeral Home, 24 Willow Street, Beacon, New York 12508. Graveside Services and interment will follow in the family plot in Mount Hope Cemetery, Hastings on Hudson.
