Nicolina Spicone
Nicolina Spicone, a longtime Beacon resident, died Thursday, January 1, 2009, at Elant at Fishkill. She was 94.
Born in Peekskill, she was the daughter of Lucy and John Petrillo. She married Frank P. Spicone, who preceded her in death on March 25, 1986.
She is survived by two daughters, Delia Lawlor, Fishkill, and Frances Critelli, Beacon; one sister, Dorothy Cioffi, Peekskill; eight grandchildren, Ronald, Jeffrey, Marc, and Matthew Critelli, Stephanie Musacchio, and Brian, Eric, and Stacey Lawlor, eleven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Mario Petrillo, her sister, Emily Jamison, and her son-in-law, Fred Lawlor.
Mrs. Spicone was a parishioner of St. Joachim-St. John the Evangelist Church, Beacon. She was a member of St. Anthony Sodality, St. Rocco’s Ladies Auxiliary, Third Order of St. Francis, and Court Liberatta, Catholic Daughters of America. She was a former member of St. John’s Women’s Club.
The family will receive their friends on Sunday, January 4, 2009, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon. Court Liberatta will meet for services at 3:00 p.m. and the Third Order of St. Francis will meet for services at 3:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, January 5, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 31 Willow Street, Beacon.
Interment will follow in St. Joachim’s Cemetery, 303 Washington Avenue, Beacon.
