Patricia Callahan Biersack, a resident of the Village of Fishkill, New York, entered into rest Sunday, February 15, 2009 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie, NY. She was 50.

Daughter of the late William F. Callahan Jr. and Helen Bialosuknia Callahan, she was born January 11, 1959 in Beacon, NY.

Patricia graduated from Mount Saint Mary Academy, Newburgh, NY in 1977. She received an Associate Degree as a Legal Assistant from Elizabeth Seton College, Yonkers, NY in 1979.

On October 15, 1988 she married William R. Biersack who predeceased her on September 17, 2003

She is survived by two sons at home, William Callahan Biersack and Robert Callahan Biersack and three brothers William, Michael, and Stephen Callahan and their families. She is also survived by two brothers-in-law Fred and Donald Biersack and their families.

Patricia was an independent title closer serving the real estate industry.

She was a teacher of dance at the Yanarella School of Dance for over twenty-five years. She began her training at age seven as a shy little ballet dancer. She soon embraced dance and expanded her studies to other types of dance. During her teenage years she progressed from assistant to teacher. While at college she studied other aspects of dance and became a respected member of the faculty and family of the Yanarella School of Dance. She taught at the National Association of Dance and Affiliated Artists New York chapter, and was instrumental in establishing the school’s workshop program for advanced students and advanced alumni of the school. She also taught adult classes and had the unique talent of making the non-dancer enjoy performing on stage. She had established herself as a respected choreographer.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 18, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc. 24 Willow Street, Beacon, NY. Handicap access is via Oak Street.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a. m. at Saint Mary Mother of the Church, Jackson Street, Fishkill, NY on Thursday, February 19, 2009. Burial will follow in Saint Joachim’s Cemetery, Washington Avenue, Beacon, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations for the benefit of William and Robert may be made to the Biersack Family Trust c/o M&T Bank, 67 Jackson Street, Fishkill, NY 12524.
