Anne H. Giordano
Anne H. Giordano, a longtime Beacon resident, died Saturday, February 28, 2009, at Pines at Poughkeepsie. She was 94.
Born in Chelsea, NY on October 10, 1914, she was the daughter of Gaetano and Nunziata Ambrosia DeRose. She married Joseph P. Giordano, who preceded her in death on January 25, 1990. She was the last of her generation, having been predeceased by her six brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Giordano worked in the former Cornell Jewelry Store, Beacon. She was a parishioner of St. Joachim-St. John the Evangelist Church, Beacon, and a member of Court Liberatta, Catholic Daughters of America and St. John’s Women’s Club.
She is survived by her son, Guy Giordano and his wife, Mary Anne, Hyde Park, and her daughter, Judith Giordano Smith, and her husband, Steven, High Point, NC; three grandchildren, Susan Weed, and her husband, Michael, Russell Smith, and Susan Smith; one great grandson, Michael Weed; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive their friends on Tuesday, March 3, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon. Handicap access is via Oak Street. Members of Court Liberatta will meet for services at 4:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, March 4, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 Willow Street, Beacon.
Interment will follow in St. Joachim’s Cemetery, 303 Washington Avenue, Beacon.
