James C. Johnson, Sr.
James C. Johnson, Sr., a longtime Beacon resident, died Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. He was 83.
Born in Glen Cove, NY on September 6, 1925, he was the son of James J. and Mary A. Peterson Johnson. He married the former Marguerite Hericourt, who predeceased him on April 28, 2000. He retired from the Maintenance Department in St. Francis Hospital, Beacon.
He is survived by five sons, James C. Johnson and his wife, Bonnie, Beacon, John E. Johnson and his wife, Rhonda, Beacon, Jerry R. Johnson and his wife, Linda, Hopewell Junction, Jeffrey R. Johnson, Highland, and Joseph M. Johnson, Beacon; three brothers, Ralph Johnson and his wife, Rita, Harry Johnson and his wife, Alice, and Joseph Johnson and his wife, Joan, all of Long Island; nine grandchildren, Kristoffer Johnson and his wife, Talia, Heather Pierce and her husband, Markus, Kevin Johnson and his wife, Vanessa, John Johnson, Jr., Jason Johnson and his wife, Jessica, Jerry Johnson, Jr. and his wife, Diana, Shawn Johnson, Christina Johnson, and Jeffrey Johnson, Jr.; and three great grandchildren, Mya, Aidan, and Kaylie. He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary and Helen, and a granddaughter, Alicia Johnson.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2009 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 Willow Street, Beacon.
Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY.
