Florence M. Taylor, a Fishkill resident and former longtime resident of Beacon, died Sunday, May 17, 2009, at The Pines, formerly Eden Park Nursing Home, Poughkeepsie. She was 71.

Born in Beacon on July 23, 1937, she was the daughter of Alfred E. and Susanna Hicks Taylor. She retired as a Secretary at the former Texaco Research Center, Glenham.

She is survived by her niece, Michele Taylor, nephews, Christopher Balash and Michael Taylor; her sisters, Alberta Antonio, Susanna McKinstry, Janet Dyson, and Patricia Thorpe; and a brother, Robert Taylor as well as several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Catherine Balash, Amelia Wilson, and Ruth Henzler; and a brother, Alfred E. Taylor, Jr.

The family will receive their friends on Tuesday evening, May 19, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 20, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Edwin H. Cromey officiating.

Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY.
