Peter P. Laurelli


Peter P. Laurelli, a lifelong resident of Beacon and Fishkill, died at his residence in Fishkill on Saturday, May 30, 2009. He was 92.

Born in Beacon on March 10, 1917, he was the son of Peter and Elizabeth Gizzarelli Laurelli. He married the former Ida Santacroce on July 8, 1939 in Newburgh. They had been married for 68 years at the time of Mrs. Laurelli’s death on January 30, 2008. Mr. Laurelli retired as a machinist from IBM, Poughkeepsie. He was also a US Navy veteran, having served during World War II aboard the USS Midway. He was a member of St. Rocco’s Society, Beacon. He loved his family and enjoyed his garden.

He is survived by his children, Nicholas Laurelli and his wife, Ellen, Beacon; Paul Laurelli and his wife, Mary, Newburgh; Richard Laurelli and his wife, Stephanie, Fishkill; a son-in-law, Bill Kibe, Glenham; a sister, Elizabeth Feezer, Littlestown, PA; grandchildren, Dante Kibe, Timothy Kibe and his wife, Cindy, Peter Kibe, Nicole Laurelli, Nissa Laurelli, Brent, Laurelli, Lauren Laurelli, Nicholas Laurelli, Patrick Laurelli, Megan Laurelli, and Sara Laurelli; great grandchildren, Ryan, Elizabeth, Ethan, and Peter Kibe. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a son, Peter Laurelli, and a daughter, Elizabeth Laurelli Kibe; a brother, Joseph Laurelli, and a sister, Lucy Laurelli Olivieri.

A graveside service with military honors will be offered on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at 10 AM at St. Joachim’s Cemetery, 303 Washington Avenue, Beacon.
