Julia Scalpi Downey
Julia Scalpi Downey passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2009 in Lewiston, NC at the home of her loving son, Michael.
A lifetime resident of Beacon, she moved to Windsor, NC three years ago to be in the care and company of her son.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Scalpi, Lewiston, NC, and Ernest Scalpi, Newburgh; three grandchildren, Shane, Michael, and Michele Scalpi; and five great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, June 11, at 10 a.m. at St. Joachim's Church, 51 Leonard Street, Beacon. Interment will follow in St. Joachim's Cemetery, 303 Washington Avenue, Beacon.
Donations in honor of Julia may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Mid-Hudson Chapter, 22 Freedom Plains Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603-2667.
