Joanne M. Baca
Joanne M. Baca soared to heaven on Sunday, July 12, 2009, in the arms of an angel to be with the man she married exactly forty years to the day. She was 62.
Born in Beacon on July 16, 1946, she was the daughter of Frank and Grace Wilson Plimley. She married Andrew J. Baca, Jr. who preceded her in death on September 3, 2006.
She was the loving mother of Thomas J. Baca, Beacon, Andrew J. Baca III and his wife, Melissa, Walkill, Dawn Marie Baca Travis and her husband, Michael, Walkill, Laura L. Baca, Beacon; and loving grandmother of Victoria E. Travis, Kathleen and Jacob Baca, and Brandon J. Baca-Simone. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by one brother, Larry Plimley, Beacon; five sisters, Donna Mara, Beacon, Terry Pardovich, Beacon, Sharon Horton, Beekman, Mary Ann Rich, Highland Falls, and Norma Koher, Germany; a goddaughter, Fawn Caplandies, Bloomingburgh, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Tommy and Gerald Plimley, and her sister, Dorothy Plimley.
She enjoyed crocheting and cooking.
The family will receive their friends on Wednesday, July 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 16, at 11 a.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon.
Burial will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill.
