|Alma V. Pappas
Alma V. Pappas, a longtime Beacon resident died Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Wingate at Dutchess, Fishkill. She was 86.
Born in Newburgh, NY, she was the daughter of Eugene and Augusta Bloomer Caruso. She retired as a secretary in the Wappingers School District and as a Toll Collector for the New York State Bridge Authority. Alma was active in the Fishkill and Glenham Senior Citizens Associations.
She is survived by her brother, George Pappas; her sisters, Helen Basso, Irene Pulcastro, and Jacqueline Soltish; grandchildren, Michele Memoli and her husband, Tony, Christopher Pappas and his wife, Sue, Nicholas Pappas and his companion, Gary, and John Pappas; her great grandchildren, Christopher and Alexa Pappas. She was predeceased by her children, Nicholas, James, Ellen, and Andrea Pappas; and her longtime companion, Peter Sanfilippo.
The family will receive their friends on Wednesday, May 5, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon. The funeral service will be held at 8:30 P.M. in the funeral home.
