Walter A. Cohen, a Beacon resident, died Sunday June 20th, 2010 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 62.
Born January 28, 1948 in New York City, he was the son of Benjamin and Elsie Simmons Cohen of Fishkill. He is survived by his wife, Susan Storm of Beacon.
Walter worked for IBM for many years prior to owning and operating Beacon Salvage Company. Most recently, he was employed by Cardinal Health in Montgomery. He was a member of Christ Church United Methodist as well as a past President of the New York Military Academy Parents Auxiliary, in Cornwall NY.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his sister Bonnie Cohen-Bachand, of Wallkill; his son David Cohen and his wife Heidi, of Millbrook; son Daniel Cohen, of Seattle WA; and step-son John Storm, of Natick MA; his grandchildren, Ethan, Ryan, Zachary and Lucas Cohen; and his niece and nephew Nina and Ben Bachand.
A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday July 10th at 1pm at Christ Church United Methodist, 60 Union St. at Phillips, in Beacon.
