Evelyn A. Kudzia
Evelyn A. Kudzia passed away on Friday, March 18, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. She was 88.
Born in Beacon on May 16, 1922 Evelyn was the daughter of Frederick J. and Anna Ripple Bossong. Evelyn married John A. Kudzia on October 7, 1945 at St. John’s Church in Beacon. Mr. Kudzia predeceased Evelyn on September 14, 1998. She was a parishioner of St. Joachim – St. John the Evangelist Church and was a member of various church organizations over the years.
Evelyn is survived by her son, John J. Kudzia and his wife, Deborah, Poughkeepsie; her daughters, Ann Marie Totten and her husband, Don, Pine Plains, Ellen Laurelli and her husband, Nicholas, Beacon and Susan Galerstein and her husband, Robert, Monroe; her sister, Dorothy Squires, Pine Plains; her grandchildren, Nicole, Nissa and Brent Laurelli, Kristin Boulanger and her husband, Tom, Kara Chapman and her husband, Mark and Robert Pappas III; her great grandchildren, Lucas and Sarah Boulanger and Jack and Ben Chapman; several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, March 21, 2011 at 10 a.m. at St. Joachim Church, 51 Leonard Street, Beacon.
Interment will follow at St. Joachim Cemetery, 303 Washington Avenue, Beacon.
Memorial Donations in memory of Evelyn may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Funeral arrangements are under the supervision of Peter T. and Patrick J. Halvey.
