John A. Oris
John A. Oris, a resident of the Town of Fishkill, entered into rest Friday, April 8, 2011 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh. He was 76.
Son of the late John and Emily Mesnick Oris, he was born January 4, 1935 in Beacon.
On November 20, 1955 he married the former Jean A. Lewis. Mrs. Oris survives at home in Fishkill.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1958. Prior to his retirement, John worked as a technician at Texaco Research Laboratories in Glenham. He later worked as a courier with M and T Bank.
He was a member of Trinity Council #445 Knights of Columbus in Beacon.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Lori Frohnhoefer and her husband, Steve of Wappingers Falls; his grandchildren, Timothy Anson and his fiancee Mae Schmitz and Sean Anson; and his niece, Kimberly.
He was predeceased by his sister, Ann Marie Simmons in 2009.
Family will receive the friends on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Mother of the Church, Jackson Street, Fishkill. Interment will follow in St. Joachim's Cemetery, Washington Avenue, Beacon.
Arrangements are under the direction of Patrick J. and Peter T. Halvey, Halvey Funeral Home, 24 Willow Street, Beacon.
