|Anna R. Didio
Anna R. Didio, a lifelong Beacon resident, passed away at home in Beacon on August 10, 2011. She was 93.
Born in Beacon on July 30, 1918, Anna was the daughter of Frank and Mary Angele Riess. On June 17, 1950, Anna married Salvatore P. Didio. Mr. Didio predeceased Anna in 1965. Anna was a graduate of the Krissler Business School in Poughkeepsie. She worked for several Beacon banks before working as a secretary at St. Joachim Rectory, a position she held for thirty seven years. Anna was a parishioner of St. Joachim – St. John the Evangelist Church in Beacon. She was a member of the parish Women’s Club. Anna helped to form St. Mary Mother of the Church in Fishkill as a separate parish in 1953 with Monsignor McKeon. Anna loved dining out with good friends, playing cards, was active in parish functions and taking care of her family.
Anna is survived by her sons, Roger Didio and his wife, Cynthia of North Carolina and David Didio and his partner, Ulrich Grimm of Manhattan; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her husband, Anna was predeceased by her siblings, Frank Riess and Mary Murphy.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. Joachim Church, 51 Leonard Street, Beacon.
Interment will follow at St. Joachim Cemetery, 301 Washington Avenue, Beacon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Anna may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 360 Lexington Ave 4th Floor, New York, New York 10017.
