Anthony F. "Whip" Corrado
Anthony F. Corrado, a lifelong Beacon resident, passed away at the New York State Veterans’ Home, Montrose on Saturday, February 18, 2012. He was 88.
Born in Beacon on December 4, 1923 he was the son of Cosmo and Maria Verdile Corrado. Anthony proudly served his country during World War II in the Navy in the Pacific Theatre. Anthony married the former Marjorie Pavlick on January 25, 1947. Mrs. Corrado survives at home. Anthony retired from IBM in Poughkeepsie. He was a parishioner of St. Joachim – St. John the Evangelist Church.
In addition to his wife, Anthony is survived by his son, Bob Corrado and his wife, Mary Margaret of Canandaigua, NY; his granddaughter, Betsy Corrado of Rochester, NY; his brothers, Carmen and Dominick.
There will be no visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.at St. John the Evangelist Church, 31 Willow Street, Beacon.
Memorial donations in memory of Anthony may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
Funeral arrangements are under the supervision of Peter T. and Patrick J. Halvey.
