Jennifer M. Sassi, a lifelong Beacon resident, passed away at Wingate at Beacon on Wednesday, August 1, 2012. She was 90.

Born in Beacon on October 1, 1921 Jennifer was the daughter of John and Josephine Nicosia Carbonaro. On September 22, 1946 Jennifer married Michael R. Sassi. Mr. Sassi predeceased Jennifer in 2000.

Jennifer is survived by her son, Michael Sassi and his wife, Illiane of Massapequa, NY; her daughter-in-law, Terry Sassi; her grandson Richard Sassi, II and his wife, Lisa; her great grandchildren, Elena and Richard Sassi, III; her sister, Frances Carbonaro; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Jennifer was predeceased by her son, Richard Sassi and her siblings, Mary, Anna, Joseph, Mauro and Rocco.

The family will receive their friends on Sunday, August 5, 2012 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 6 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 31 Willow Street, Beacon.

Entombment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 5468 Route 9W, Newburgh.
