Mary E. Staebell

Operated Leo's Archery Range

Mary (nee Little) Staebell, age 71, of Tonawanda, formerly of Depew, died Friday, February 20, 2009 at her residence after a long illness. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Helen (nee Will) Little. Mrs. Staebell owned and operated Leo's Archery Range in East Aurora for more than 45 years, before retiring. She was active in the Junior Archery Program for children and was a member of the National Archery Association. Mary was the wife of the late Harold Staebell, who died in 2007.

She is survived by her sisters, Elizabeth (Thomas) Salatino and Beverly McNerney. She was the beloved aunt of Peggy and Roger Kruzicke (Steve & Tami, Jennifer & Bert), Debbie and John May (Francis & Lauren, David, Anna), Robert and Laura Elvers (Bobby, Heather), Beth and Bruce Kaufman (Mike & Kelly, Jeffrey & Nicole), Tammi & Mike Cote' (Kenny & Tammy), Sue Ellen Elvers and David Grzechowiak (DJ & Nicole, Kevin), and Melissa and Lee Fuller (Bob & Lisa, Cassie, Tom).

Friends may call from 2-7 PM on Sunday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where services will be held at 7 PM Sunday. Friends invited. If desired, memorials to Hospice Buffalo, 225 Como Park Blvd, Cheektowaga, NY 14227, are preferred by the family.
